About our Church Services

Content

The contents of the services have been specially developed by the Untied in Solace and Grace team, drawing material and ideas from a variety of spiritual traditions.  Prayers have been specially written, and existing prayers adapted to replace any 'triggering' language and terminology, carefully preserving the theology behind the original prayer.

We have developed reflection and prayer stations, which are based on the elements of air, fire, water, earth and Spirit.  We also use grounding words in the body of the church to help those taking part feel safe in the strange environment of church building.

There are no congregational hymns or worship songs, and the music we have used has been chosen  to be reflective and  complement the theme of the service.  we suggest starting the  service with gentle instrumental contemporary worship songs, rather than traditional hymns.

The worship has not been designed to invite disclosure, but it is important to make sure that safeguarding is at the heart of the service, and that there are experienced members of the team available if needed.

Principles of Trauma Informed Practice  have been used to ensure that  services and worship spaces are safe and inviting.
